Where do I start with my excitement about Jen + Drew’s engagement? Jen and I have been roommates, co-workers, co-horts, and above all best friends for years now. Right from the start she and Drew were magic. He put her at ease, made her laugh, and made the usually cautious Roper admit she was head over heels.
Over time they’ve become such strong partners, supporting each other’s careers, encouraging each other’s wellness, traveling together, nesting in each new residence. [Roper has the same cycle of moving every 9 months or so, yet another reason why we understand each other so well.] In the best of ways they are already united in love; but in June, Drew got down on one knee and asked Jen to be his wife.
Personal aside to Drew: NICE WORK ON THE RING, DUDE.
Last week I found out they had set a date for their wedding. A date that just happened to be four days after I left for Europe.
I sat in my hotel room crying in disbelief. I couldn’t imagine missing the celebrations of two people who mean so much to me.
A note popped up from Jen in my inbox just a minute later. They moved the wedding!
With great joy I will be there to photograph their marriage on December 5th.
To Jen + Drew, you gorgeous darlings, I wish you a world of happiness. I’m so grateful to be a part of your lives!
